![]() A muslim/eastern tech nation with relatively low land force limit shoud use 60% cavalry and 40% infantry. It depends what nation you play, and what tech. BUT if your force limit is low, you can use merc infantry, cavalry of normal manpower, and shock the enemy to death. I tend to use infantry only, and to pass on cavalry flanking, just to get more sieging troops. Quantity and offensive idea groups give big bonuses to land force limit too, +50% and +20% respectively.ĭeveloping manpower in provinces increases land force limit.Īlternatively, you can build +forcelimt buildings on all crappy development provinces. At tech 13 or so, you can use the manpower you saved to make artillery with the manpower pool, while keeping your merc army. Then you can usually afford full forcelimit merc army, and you don't need manpower anymore. But usually, handing all land to clergy estate is better idea. This will make the province being considered as 0% autonomy for manpower gain AND land force limit bonus. If you own cossacks dlc, you can assign provinces with high manpower value to noble estate. is there a mod to fix this or does Mare Nostrum (I think that is the one that adds mercenary component) fix this issue? If not, is there a tutorial about making a mod to resolve this oddity? I am not sure if the game takes this into account. How could my manpower limit hired units from elsewhere? The only reasonable limit would be a available manpower in my region (early game). However, I recently bought a bunch of mercenary units only to discover that I went over my unit limit. I thought I could go around this issue by hiring mercenary units. The game limits the number of armies you can have through "manpower" and "Unit limits" What I gathered from the wiki is that there is a calculation from manpower that help to define your unit limit. I do have Common Sense and I think everything before that. First I do not have Art of War, Cossack or Mare Nostrum. ![]() I just started playing EU4 (Paradox games in general). I am sure something like this had been discuss, so sorry for the redundant thread if that is the case!
